Art

I think that art should take effort. If you are under the impression that you understand its every implication within the first few seconds of viewing, then it is either not truly art or you are a fool. But I’ll admit that I’m better analyzing words then brush strokes.

The English club is putting on its third Art Night. They asked the English Majors to send their favorite pieces in to be part of an “English Major’s Suggest” slide show. Here are the pieces I’ve submitted, they make my heart happy or at least leave it stirred:

dude, as an art major, i totally understand what your talking about. and as far as choosing favorite pics, thats tough. i have a vast liking for different pieces and its tough to lay a finger on a favorite. out of these, i definitely dig the vanishing road and the dinner scene, and the the bomb dropping bird is pretty swell. nice choices. not sure what i think about the gas mask one, kinda creepy, but hey, so are politics. sweet.

You’re an art major? I saw your flckr the other day. I had no idea! You’re pretty good! As far as artists go, here they are in order that they appear starting from top left: Monet, Monet, Ansel Adams, Botero, Tali, Jeremy Cowart, unknown (threadless), Van Gogh. Good stuff. If y’all are bored Friday night you should come check it out. It’s a small deal, but we English majors like it.

Awesome. And, before you get into too much description I feel that I should inform you that Ansel Adams is a man. Yeah, way to be cultured dude.
