Trip Update: Day Three

This is the most insane idea for an adventure I have ever had. I’ve been kicking and screaming for months now, but I am so incredibly thankful that no one let me off the hook once. The trip is ridiculous and fantastic all at the same time. I mean truly, who does this?

We’ve ridden 170 miles in the last two days. 70 of yesterday’s miles were in the pouring mountain rain. I accidentally knocked into Nolan and went under his wheel yesterday so I’m the winner of the “First to Fall” award.

My team is amazing and I have never seen such hospitality as the church in Eugene and Camp Davidson. Today we let the kids sleep in a bit later because of such a rough day yesterday; their attitudes, by the way, were fantastic despite the onset of first stage hypothermia. No joke. I know we are in still in the first stages and that this high might be replaced by the ongoing rigorousness of this endeavor, but all I see are signs of divine grace so far.

God’s creation is beautiful and so are the people who are his hands, feet, eyes, and heart.

Till next time we have internet it’s still about Peace and Bike Grease. :-)

P.S. I have a newfound hatred for littering. For crying out loud, the rage only grows with each natural waterfall cursed by beer cans.

Time to peace out!

Pray for our bodies, they ACHE!
